Terms and Conditions

You will be asked to sign to say that you agree to these terms and conditions when arriving for your first appointment or online on booking your first appointment,

Your dog's health and welfare are my number one priority and the policy below outlines your commitment to this as customer and mine as the groomer.

I operate on a salon exclusivity basis, where only one dog is in the grooming area. The only exception to this is multiple dogs from the same household.

Dog Health

Your dog must be up to date on their vaccinations and in good health on the day of grooming.

You must inform me of any injuries or illnesses to your dog prior to grooming.

Your dog should be free from fleas, if fleas are found a £15 charge will incur on top of the groom to treat the salon so that it is flea-free for other dogs.

Dogs in heat are welcome in the salon, however I must be made aware of them being in heat prior to the appointment so that we can discuss how this may impact their temperament and therefore the groom finish, to allow you the opportunity to reschedule if desired. We do not groom dogs that are confirmed or suspected pregnant.

In accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act I do not empty anal glands or pluck ears, these internal procedures must be done by a vet.

In the event of injury or illness I will administer canine first aid as far as I am trained and able. Where necessary a vet may be called to administer further care.

Failure to adhere to the above guidance may result in me being unable to groom your dog and rescheduling the appointment.

Dog Behaviour

I reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog or to stop grooming a dog that shows signs of aggression or behaviour that may cause injury to itself or others.

I reserve the right to charge an additional fee for behaviour where it has caused the time taken to groom to be longer.

You must inform me of any behaviour that your dog shows or has previously shown, including but not limited to fear, aggression, and biting.

Dog Coat Health & Matting

All grooming quotes are based on a dog with a healthy coat free from matting. I encourage and educate dog parents on how best to manage your dogs' coat at home, most breeds require regular brushing/combing to keep their coat healthy. Please ask me if you'd like advice on how to manage your dogs' coat.

Failure to regularly brush your dog at home and to infrequently book in for a professional groom may lead to their coat becoming heavily matted. This is extremely uncomfortable for the dog and can lead to bruising and other skin conditions. In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, I prioritise the comfort and safety of the dog and therefore would shave a heavily matted coat down in order to remove the matting in an efficient and more comfortable manner than combing out. I assess each dog on drop off and can usually advise whether the dog requires shaving, if so, you will be offered the choice of me completing a full groom including shaving or cancelling the appointment (the deposit would not be refundable).

If a dog requires a shave down and I have not been able to assess this at the drop off (perhaps only sections are heavily matted) I will attempt to make contact with you during a groom. I will endeavour to save as much of the coat and keep the appearance of the dog as pleasing as possible, however I prioritise humanity over vanity, coats will grow back, so it may be necessary to shave a dog down shorter than preferred.

An extra fee of £10 will be added to the full groom cost for any heavily matted coats to cover the extra time, care and wear on my equipment that a matted coat causes.

Regular brushing at home and keeping to regular grooming appointments will avoid the need to remove heavy matting frequently.

Customer Details & Social Media

Your details are held in accordance with the Data Protection Act, they will be stored securely and only shared where legally necessary.

We regularly post before and after pictures of the dogs to social media. Please let me know if you do not want your dog's photo to be published on social media.

Deposits, Late Arrivals & No Shows

All appointments are charged a £20 deposit, this fee is then removed from the price of the groom or can be rolled over to the next appointment if the customer is booking again.

Deposits should be paid within 24 hours to secure your appointment, failure to pay the deposit within this time may result in the appointment being offered to someone else as we are unfortunately unable to hold empty diary slots for long. The deposit is non-refundable except in the case of the groomer cancelling the appointment. Deposits may be transferred to future appointments if sufficient 48 hour notice is given to reschedule an appointment.

Appointments are scheduled to prevent overlap, so please arrive promptly for drop-off and collection. Early arrivals may be asked to wait to allow time to clear the salon. Late arrivals may be refused if over 15 minutes late to prevent a knock on effect to all other appointments that day. Late collection of a dog is charged at £5 per every 10 minutes past the collection time.

I request you give me as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. I reserve the right to refuse further appointments after no shows or 2 late arrivals (classified as 15 minutes or later past the agreed appointment time).

Grooming Feedback

After each session, we will inform you of any problems or concerns we have encountered. This is also the time to inform us of any concerns you have in relation to the groom. Where possible we will rectify this immediately. We reserve the right to charge for further changes or requests made after 24 hours of receiving the dog after the session.
